Just before the Fourth of July, I made the decision to shut down the Living Out Loud Blog over at CityBeat. The reasons I stated in that last post were all true. I simply had too much on my plate to devote all that time to blogging. It was a time eater having to come up with two or three posts everyday.
But I got to missing it, especially during this past election season. Also, things pop up in my head when I walk around downtown Cincinnati and notice the same old, same old. Outside of the Living Out Loud column, I have no place to vent – no where to complain. You know how I am.
So I’m back. Did you miss me?
Things will be a little different this time around. This new blog is independent. Not that the people at CityBeat put any kind of pressure on me – I did that pretty much on my own – but with this blog, I won’t be posting everyday. The plan is to do three or four new postings a week. That’s something I think I can handle and still get the rest of my work done.
The old LOL Blog was quite silly at times to the point where very often we were just filling up space. I don’t want that to happen here. We’ll be silly some of the time, but I want this blog to be a little smarter than the last one.
In the weeks ahead, we’ll figure out what works and doesn’t work. I’ll be bringing back some of the regular posts the old blog had, but I’m not which ones they’ll be yet.
For all of you who kept saying you wanted me to return, well I have. Do I want something in return? Of course. Start kissing my ass and start reading this blog.
