Last week, in my little tucked away area in Westwood, I saw something that I still can’t believe I saw.
It was on one of those warm days last week – was a little bit windy.
I was standing outside my building, taking in a little sun and smoking a cigarette. Squirrels are all over here, so it wasn’t unusual to see one running down this patch of grass in front of my building.
What was unusual was to see a giant hawk trying to make a landing with his giant claws out ready to grab on to the squirrel.
The squirrel got away – made it under a bush. The hawk landed for a few seconds, saw me and flew away.
Actually, the size and the face on the hawk scared me a little. I had to jump back.
Thinking about it later, in all my years of city living, I have never seen anything like this.
Have you?
