Here’s an e-mail I got from my friend Marilyn a few days ago. Yes, I’m sharing.
No one was more astonished than I when I actually created this pumpkin yesterday. I found the pattern on the internet and knew I had to at least try doing this.
This is completely different than cutting through (which I’ve done since the early 90’s)… This requires wood carving tools and one just carves out half the skin & flesh of the pumpkin and leaves a thin layer intact.
Strangely enough, I had the required tools.
. . . and here’s the finished product.
Honestly, I have never seen a pumpkin like this in my life.
Here’s a suggestion, Marilyn. Next Halloween, market and sell your pumpkins. You’ll make a fortune.
Everybody, have a great and safe Halloween. We’ll be back on Sunday.
(Photo, of course, from Marilyn)

I tried one of these fancy patterns for pumkins last year at Halloween and totally failed. Marilyn, you must be long on patience.
Really good work. Marilyn, just curious. How long did it take you to do this?
Sure, good work, but Halloween pumpkins are suppose to look scary. This isn’t scary at all.
that’s awesome
Good morning and good grief, Charlie Brown!
Ah, I am patient. I learned this attribute with my health issues. Loooong on patience.
The Charlie Brown prolly took 4-5 hours (only after transferring the pattern onto the punkin).
Daniel, I did a scary one yesterday. If this link works, you’ll see: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2022132&id=1479850313&l=a44975ea82
I’m having fun.
hey marilyn: boo!
I admire people who are creative and have the patience to do this kind of work. I have neither.
Marilyn, I could never in a million years do something like this. Excellent!
The kid with the blanket. Is that Roger Ach?
If Marilyn were a true artist, she’d make potato cakes. I like potato cakes a lot.
it’s pretty amazing, marilyn.
