Why Can’t Election Day be a Holiday?

election dayIt’s Election Day. Not familiar with the issues here in Cincinnati or who to vote for? Click here to get a quick education.

When will you vote today? Will you do it before you go to work, after or during your lunch break?

For many, it’s a hassle to find the time to do it and I think, in part, that’s why some people don’t vote—or they’re using “I had to work” as an excuse.

I think we should make Election Day a national holiday. Companies should pay their employees for this day off and encourage them to go vote. Employees would have all day to get around to it. That work excuse would be gone.

You know, maybe we should put this on the ballot for next year.

I totally agree with you but we must take it a step future. Since election day always falls on a Tuesday, we should have Monday off as well.

I’ll wait until after work to vote or at least that’s what I’m thinking now. Really, does it make much difference if I do or not?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to make election day on the weekends when most people are off?

Will Roger Ach have time to vote today?
