I don’t think I’ve ever written a post about footwear before. I’m about to do it now.
Yesterday was a sad day for me as I had to throw away my favorite pair of hippie shoes. I’d worn them down to the ground—wore them almost every day for the past three years. They were beginning to look pretty bad—a reality that was hard to face.
I almost said a prayer as I threw them in the trash. Well, not really. Let’s not get too carried away, but it was close to the low point of the day.
When I say hippie shoes, I really mean Earth Shoes. I wore them back in the early 70’s, then lost track of them, then rediscovered them about ten years ago. I thought they were no longer around. They are.
The photo being used in this post shows how those Earth Shoes looked back in the 70’s. I had a pair exactly like them and also a black pair. They lasted for years.
With the Earth Shoes now, the tops look more modern, but the sole of the shoe looks exactly the same. These type of shoes are good for diabetics as they take the weight off the ball of the foot. My foot doctor likes the fact I wear them.
Earth Shoes are kind of expensive but you get what you pay for and I usually look for bargains on line. I’ve got at least six pair of them left.
Who says guys don’t care about shoes. I’m almost as bad as my ex-wife.
