The month of March was cataract surgery for me. We touched on it here during that time—did a few posts about it—but didn’t go into a lot of detail.
In this week’s Living Out Loud column in CityBeat, I decided to write about my eyesight, how it was before the surgery and how it was after. “After” was the most fun to write, you know, being able to see again.

And that’s it on the subject, or at least I think so. It may come up in the future as a side item, but it’s time to move on and simply enjoy looking at what’s around me.
And I hope you all do the same this weekend. Enjoy it. We’ll be back on Sunday with another post.

Seeing is believing! I’m so glad your eyesight is back.
Loved the column.
My father had cataract surgery three years ago and his eyes were really bad too and he still says it is a joy to be able to see again. I sent him a link to the column.
You had the best people possible doing your surgeries. Your rediscovered joy in seeing Everyday is a deligh to readt.
Well, I meant “delight to read.” Maybe I should go in for a consult!
The scene at Kroger with the clerk who wasn’t doing his job, couldn’t bother to tell you how much money was owed and who, frankly, belittled you. It’s telling of our society. I am so glad you said what you did. One would like to think that maybe it woke him up a little.
