Changes are coming to the City of Covington. This is where I live. Apparently the city isn’t aware that I hate change, but these are changes I think I can live with.
On Tuesday, commissioners for the City of Covington voted on whether they wanted to relax zoning ordinances to allow food trucks and micro-distilleries. It looks like it’s a go. This is going to create some jobs and some more money for the city. Yes, it’s a good decision.
Having said that, I don’t ever see myself going to a food truck for food. If you want to, great. You know, we’ll all different. I’d rather go to a restaurant and sit down and enjoy myself rather than standing up to eat.
It’s kind of like those hot dog vendors all over downtown Cincinnati. Once I was in a hurry and got a hot dog from one of these vendors, took a few bites of it and the damn thing fell apart. I ended up throwing it in a garbage can. It wasn’t a good time and I suspect those food trucks would be the same thing for me.
As far as micro-distilleries, I don’t see myself purchasing a beverage of this type either. I’m more of a cocktail kind of guy, but suit yourself. I’m not going to stop you from ordering one.
That’s pretty much all I have to say about food trucks and micro-distilleries in Covington, but I want you to take note on how agreeable I am on these two subjects.
I’ll write another post on Saturday. I don’t know what it will be yet, but chances are it won’t be as agreeable as this one.
