Obama Supports Gays and Romney Bullies Them

President Obama finally came out last week and announced he supports gay marriage. Most of us know he has supported gay marriage all along but for political reasons, dragged his feet. The Vice-President kind of forced his hand on this by going on “Meet the Press” last Sunday and saying he supports equal rights for gays. You gotta love Joe for that. The reality is he’s more straight-forward than our President.

Forcing President Obama to “go ahead already” and come clean was a good thing. Obama’s intent was to make this big announcement on “The View.” In my mind that would have been a joke. You don’t do this type of thing on a silly talk show.

Coming out for gay marriage is a good first step for Obama. Not having equal rights for all is flat out wrong. Hell, I even wrote about it way back in September or 2008 in my Living Out Loud column in CityBeat—“Love and Marriage and Being Gay.”

Turning to Romney now, his head is still up his ass, still in the 1950’s. It also came out last week that Romney was a high school bully and in some cases targeted gays. He and his bully buddies are described as “A pack of dogs.”

High school was quite a few years ago for Romney but does a bully ever really change? Not in my mind. I was bullied in high school and to this day, those buddies still have the same mindset. Maybe this helps us understand why Romney strapped his dog to the top of a car while driving on a family vacation. He even mistreats his pets.

We don’t have a perfect President. Obama waited much too long to come out for gay marriage, but the important thing is he did do it. Romney never will and in my head, I will always have this image of him back in high school bullying students that were a bit different than him.

That’s not the kind of President I want. Do you?

Let’s Stop Pretending That We Give a Damn about Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent is part of my generation. I didn’t give a damn about him in the 1970’s and I don’t give a damn about him now.

He’s a rocker, or at least that’s how I know him. I remember being in a record store once and looking at the album cover of “Cat Scratch Fever.” That’s all I did.

Did he or does he play a mean guitar? I have no idea.

I remember hearing in passing that he hosts a radio talk show. Does he still? Is it or was it any good?

See, I’m trying to care, but I just don’t. I’m not like the rest of the media.

As much as I try to pay no attention to him, Nugent has been in the news lately. He’s made it clear that he doesn’t like President Obama and doesn’t like liberals in general. He does, however, like guns.

He blew up at a reporter on the “CBS This Morning” show last week. If this type of thing interests you, I’m providing a link to it right here.

It’s all so boring.

Is Nugent worth any kind of media coverage at all? In my view, no. Let’s stop pretending like we give a damn about this out of touch, has been rocker and focus in on issues and problems that are more important than this guy. Let’s stop wasting our time.

Desperate for Mitt Romney

Well sure. I’ve said it here before, but the Republican nomination for President of the United Sates is over and Mitt Romney is the chosen one—whatever that means.

Maybe Rep. Louis Gohmert of Texas said it best.

“I’m not as excited as I am desperate.” His words, not mind. Of course Gohmert meant that he was desperate to get Obama out of office but I don’t know if that’s possible with the likes of Romney—not that I’m complaining.

In my view, if Romney has any chance of winning at all, he’s going to have to turn himself into something other than a joke. For one thing, he’s gonna have to distance himself with this bullshit Republican “war on women.” I have no idea how he can do that as he’s part of the problem. Do you honestly believe that Romney thinks women are equal? Of course not. Romney sounds like and looks like he belongs on “Mad Men.”

Picking a decent running mate could help, but since Romney is still a joke, who would be foolish enough to go along for the ride? Rob Portman, that freshman Senator from Ohio, is being mentioned as a possible candidate, but he’s not well known and maybe that’s lucky for him. Suggestion to Portman: Don’t associate yourself with Romney. Stay clear.

And I’ve said this here before too. I love following this kind of stuff, especially when I think the Democrats have the advantage. This is what I’m assuming, but you know what happens when you assume. I’m trying hard not to take any of it for granted.

Lying Through My Teeth, I Will Always Take The High Road When It Comes To Mitt Romney

Let’s face reality. With Romney winning the primaries in D.C., Maryland and Wisconsin, he’s basically won the GOP nomination.

It’s a shame that it’s over. We’ll soon receive no more comedy from Santorum or Gingrich but we’ll always have our memories. Sorry—getting a little choked up here.

Facing this reality, you know I’m already lying when I say I will always take the high road with Romney, but to my credit, I have backed off on a few interesting items.

I have not mentioned here that he’s being compared to an Etch a Sketch, you know, someone who changes his position whenever the wind blows. I had an Etch a Sketch when I was a kid and very much enjoyed it. It’s now enjoying a jump in sales due to Romney, so maybe he is good for the economy in some strange way.

And also not once here have I mentioned that poor dog of his being strapped to the top of his car while driving down the freeway on a vacation. This clearly shows me what he thinks of animals which is not much.

No, there will be no high road taking here mainly because Romney, just like most other Republicans, will be on the low road when it comes to President Obama. That’s the kind of guy he is. He won’t play fair so I won’t either. When push comes to shove, that’s the kind of guy I am.

Tony Soprano Endorses Rick Santorum for President of the United States

First off, Kids, WAIT! If hearing bad words makes you angry and/or cry, don’t watch the video. I’ve put up videos before that have gotten me in trouble because I didn’t warn people, so consider yourself that—warned. OK?

Now. . .

I said in a post here last week that I didn’t know much about Rick Santorum and should do some research on him. I’ve done some, but it’s kind of boring, just like the man himself. The reality is this guy, this nut, is not going to be elected president. If hell freezes over and he is, then I’m leaving the country. He would be even worse than Bush, and that’s saying a lot.

But having said that, I do find it interesting that one of my favorite people, Tony Soprano, endorses Santorum for president. If you watched the video up above with the bad words, you have already figured that out.

Actually, Tony is saying “Sanitorium,” but it’s an easy mistake to make.

Romney Can’t Shake Santorum and Newt is Like a Roach That Won’t Die

Are you watching the Republican primaries? I’m getting caught up in this stuff as a great situation comedy that I don’t want to see end—especially this election season.

Romney can’t shake Santorum who keeps coming back. To be straight up, I don’t know all that much about Santorum, so I probably need to research him a little more. What I do know is he’s a guy who seems to think about gay people even more than actual gay people. My first view is he’s a bit of a nut that would set this country back 50 years.

Romney is Romney. You know how when you move into a new house or apartment and within days, there’s a knock on the door and it’s a magazine salesman? You fall for the guy welcoming you to your new home and you order magazines and the guy is nice and charming and you get taken in and then the damn magazines ever arrive and you get pissed. That’s Romney. You want to trust him, but deep down in your heart, you know you can’t.

And then there’s Newt, the roach that won’t die. He and his rich buddy will continue to spend millions only to lose. It’s silly, it’s a waste of money—it’s so Newt.

I shouldn’t leave out Ron Paul. He’s the most honest guy running and a lot of what he says makes sense but too much of it doesn’t, so he also should be saving his and supporters money.

I’d be interesting in hearing your views on all of this—really I would.

A Suggestion for Newt

When it comes to politics, I admit I don’t really understand how the game is played or even why it’s played. Therefore, it should be no surprise to me that I can’t figure Newt Gingrich out.

It’s becoming clear that he’s not going to win the GOP nomination for president. I mean the numbers don’t add up now. Why is he still fooling himself and staying in the race? What’s the point in hanging around?

It’s probably because of that guy, his friend, who is giving him all kinds of money to stay in. Newt, couldn’t that money be better spent?

You’ve made it clear you don’t like people on food stamps. When you talk about this, you seem to look down on these people like they are less than you. Instead of looking down, I have a suggestion.

Why don’t you and your rich friend take all that money you’re spending and create some jobs and put these food stamp people to work? Most people on food stamps really would rather work, Newt, and you’re throwing away millions and millions of dollars all on yourself. Yeah, throwing it away for nothing. You are not going to be president! Create some job growth instead!

If you’re not interested in giving money to create jobs, Newt, go to your getaway place on the moon. It would be even easier to look down on people from there. .

Rush Limbaugh is Archie Bunker

Rush Limbaugh is not part of my life. I only listen to portions of his radio show when he’s in the news and last week he was.

I don’t have to go into this birth control business, Sandra Fluke and the stupid things he said about her do I? Thank you, because I really don’t want to. Big fat idiot (Rush) has backed down from his comments and has said he’s sorry. My guess is he more or less had to with sponsors dropping out of his radio show.

Rachel Maddow on her MSNBC television show hit the nail on the head when it comes to Limbaugh and his knowledge on birth control pills. Asshole (Rush) thinks that every time a woman has sex, she needs to take a pill.

It’s like me having high cholesterol. Every night before I go to bed, I take a cholesterol pill. I don’t take a pill after each mean. It’s just once a day. On a side note, do you think the fat guy (Rush) knows anything about high cholesterol? Sorry, don’t mean to be mean.

Rush Limbaubaugh is Archie Bunker. They both speak before they know all the facts on a subject. In fact, Rush even looks like Archie.

I never listen to conservative talk radio and don’t know what radio station here locally carries Archie’s (I mean Rush’s) show. Maybe it’s WKRC. If it is, I think they should consider dropping the show in an effort to prove to their audience that they know they are smarter than Bunker (I mean Limbaugh).

We Don’t Need a Christian President

For the presidential race this year, the Republicans don’t have much to offer as far as candidates. They know this all too well, so the goal is to distract the sheep voters with political sound bites. Sheep fall for these sound bites every time.

Many still believe that our President wasn’t born in this country despite the fact he has proven he was. Some of those sheep believe Obama is a Muslim. Those of us who aren’t sheep laugh at this bullshit. Sheep don’t know how to laugh. They simply nod their heads in agreement and wait to be told what to think next.

Here’s the sound bit currently making the rounds. I’m sure you’ve heard it. President Obama is not a Christian.

I don’t know if he is or isn’t, but I’m pretty sure he’s not a nutcase when it comes to religion. That’s exactly what we want.

We don’t want a bible holding president. We need one with commonsense who can think through issues and problems and make logical decisions and not someone holding a Bible and looking up to the sky for guidance.

Do you remember our last Christian president? He was George Bush—you know the guy after 9/11 who invaded the wrong country and sent our young people to die in a war that was unnecessary. Yes, old men holding Bibles like to send young people off to fight their needless wars. That’s sooooo christian.

While Obama hasn’t been a perfect president, thinking of a guy like Santorum and his Christian values makes me run back into our President’s arms.

I’m very sure if you’re a commonsense voter, you get what I’m saying here. If you’re a sheep, your head is probably spinning right now.

We don’t need a christian president. While I don’t think it will happen this election year, let’s pray that it doesn’t.

Politics and Bus Fare

I’ll pick on Mitt Romney this morning but really it could be any of those people in Washington. Yes. Those people.

Before counting out my bus fare to get over to Cincinnati this morning, I read online that Romney’s fundraising for his bid to become president has stagnated. Still, this guy, in January, spent close to $19 million dollars to try and win the GOP nomination. 19 million dollars.

When was the last time you spent $19 million dollars in a month? In a year? Have you ever in your entire life had that kind of money? For me, the answer is no to all three questions. Hell, I’m trying to come up with bus fare.

I’m not sure why this story and information bugs me so much. I’m aware that money and politics is a way of life in this country but how can these people raising and spending this kind of money relate to people like you and me? It’s all a game and the older I get, the more it makes me sick.

I’m 20 cents short on bus fare. Maybe I’ll call Romney and see if he’s got any spare change.
