We’re hitting a bit of a milestone here today as our little old blog turns two years old. We started this sucker on November 17, 2008.
I have nothing profound to say—of course—do I ever? We may try some new things here in the coming year or maybe not. The main goal actually is simply to maintain and not close down. I’ll try to explain this in a rambling kind of way, the one thing I’m good at.
When you look at this blog, you don’t see any advertising on it. With major blogs currently suffering from a lack of advertising, I see no point in attempting it here. No, you won’t be seeing any Google ads on this blog. Do you know who makes money on those? Google.
Yep, I promote my work here and have managed to sell some of my books from this site, so I’ll settle for that. Financially, it gives me a bit of an incentive to keep going. Creativity, despite my old age, I enjoy blogging. There, I admit it.
And I’m lucky to be finding additional freelance work while still writing for CityBeat, still writing for Streetvibes, still planning a new book in the fall and doing speaking engagements when people will have me. What I’m saying is I’m lucky enough to be fairly busy, so maintaining this blog and not growing it may be it for a while.
Yeah, rambling. I’ll try to wrap this up.
To all of you who read me regularly here please know it’s appreciated. To those of you who don’t, I’m too busy to do anything about it.
