I take the #6 bus back home to Westwood, so that means the bus heads up Central Parkway. When we got to the “Super Jobs” building (I’m assuming this building is still the unemployment office), the bus driver pulled over.
“Be back in a minute,” he said. “Gotta pay a water bill.”
As the driver left the bus, the guy in the wheelchair said “Can’t he do that on his own time?”
“I didn’t know you could pay your water bill in there,” the older man with the cane replied back.
“How is the unemployment office connected with Cincinnati Water Works?” I asked myself out loud.
The driver was only gone for a minute. When he returned, the guy in the wheelchair figured out what the driver meant. “He was using the restroom,” he said.
And that was right. I guess we passengers in the front of the bus last week were slow thinkers.
By the way, when I got home that afternoon, I paid my own water bill.
