Some like the hot weather but I really don’t. I made the attempt to go over to Cincinnati and CityBeat yesterday but standing at the bus stop, I started to feel sick and just went back home. Yeah, I’ve turned into an old man who can’t handle the heat.
The morning before, I went to the Walgreen’s on Madison Avenue in Covington to pick up a few things. I ran into an older gentlemen and I basically said “hot enough for ya?”
“Yeah,” he said,”getting a few things done this morning so I can stay in for the rest of the day.”
I could relate to his words. That was my plan too.
My plants don’t like it, but I’m not opening the curtains during this hot spell. The apartment stays coolder with them closed.
I guess this is better than winter but that’s only a guess.

When I was a little kid so many years ago, sometimes my mother would make me watch Lawrence Welk on the teevee when I did something bad.
. . . guess I’m punishing you today.
Schools and businesses want vending machines to provide healthy food. Click here to read this bullshit report.
This is soooooo un-American. How can we stay fat and out of shape with healthy vending machines? When we go to a vending machine, we’re looking for chips or candy, not for a bag of carrots or squash.
Write your congressman or congresswoman. Those health nuts are taking this too far.

Modern technology? It’s a wonderful thing. Nothing stays the same and the world has to move forward. Having said that, I’m a person who normally doesn’t like change, so I basically pick and choose that modern technology that’s going to enter my life.
My latest Living Out Loud column in CityBeat explains where I’m coming from. Click here to read it.

It sounds like the CEO of Kings Island is pretty hands on. He actually visits the amusement park and rides the rides. Really. Click here to read the story.
Part of that story talks about new rides that are coming and, of course, ticket prices that will be going up. Do ticket prices ever go down?
When my kids were small, we went to Kings Island more than a few times and ticket prices were high enough then. I remember being almost broke after every visit.
It was fun for the kids, but I’m not an amusement park kind of guy. You probably already figured that out.

I think you can figure it out.
Sorry about the advertising at the end of the video. You can sleep through it.
This weekend is my move to Covington, Kentucky. Yep, it’s finally happening.
At this point, I don’t know if we’ll be down for a few days or not down at all. It kind of depends on how the move goies and how soon I can get my computer up and running.
For now, I’ll just say we’ll (well, actually, me) be back as soon as we can.
Wish me luck.
