I’m a freelance writer. I get paid for things I write, or I should say sometimes. Is it OK if I vent? Is it OK if I don’t make much sense too?
Why do some publications these days expect a writer to do it for nothing? I don’t understand this. Is writing a piece for the internet less important than writing something for print media? I keep hearing print is dead and the internet is here and now, yet print still pays.
Speaking of being paid, why do editors expect deadlines to be met but when it comes to payment for the work, it can drag on for months. Isn’t this a double standard?
People ask me what’s going on with the LOL column being in Article 25. Beats the hell out of me. It’s supposed to happen. Why can’t editors communicate better?
I have a button attached to a bookcase that says “Will write for food.” At this point, I’ll write for rotten fruit.
Gone. I gotta get that article done. Sorry for being in a bad mood.
