Yesterday morning for breakfast, I had a couple of those Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage
sandwiches—you know those little biscuits. I try not to eat them too often because they can’t be good for you, but most things that taste great aren’t. This morning, I had oatmeal instead. Let’s say I just put up with it.
As I was eating those sausage biscuits yesterday, I thought of Jimmy Dean. I haven’t actually thought of him in years.
Here was a guy who was a big Country Music star in the 1960’s. He had hit records, even had his own network television show. He was a big success.
Few will ever remember this. When people think of Jimmy Dean, they think of that damn sausage. No, it doesn’t keep me up at night, but there’s something wrong about that.
Just so you know, “Big Bad John” was probably his biggest hit. Maybe you can listen while eating some of his sausage.
We’ll do another post on Saturday.
