Sometimes when I’m walking around in downtown Cincinnati, I see those young kids walking with their pants almost down around their knees. This really isn’t anything new to me. I remember a man who was doing it back in the 1960’s. His pants were even lower and hell, I even knew the guy.
His name was Stringbean. I met him once when he was playing at a club on the outskirts of Cincinnati. This was back, of course, when I was a kid—you know, my weird life.
Stringbean was a real nice, down to earth gentleman. At that club, my brothers and I talked to him for a while. He even offered to buy us a hamburger.
Here’s Stringbean singing “Pants on the Ground.” Strike that. Make it “Widow.”
