This is my second winter in Covington, but I didn’t notice this during my first winter here. I didn’t notice that the birds still sing in the morning despite the colder weather. I love this as I drink my coffee.
This wasn’t the case in Westwood where I lived before moving to Covington. Yes, I would hear starlings and crows during the winter months, but I don’t call that singing. I call the sounds they make annoying.
I love listening to the birds sing in the morning. I wrote about this on April 9, 2009 in CityBeat.
I think the birds singing are sparrows. Do Red Birds sing too? I’ve seen a few of them outside my window, but they seem quiet.
Maybe I’ll get a birdfeeder. Maybe this will make the singing even louder.
