I remember a long time ago, someone asked me if I ever read Reach Magazine. Trying to be a smart ass, I replied, “I’ve tried, but I can ever find anything to read in it. It’s like its all ads.”
Pretty funny, right? OK, not so much.
With this magazine being my first piece of mail, I decided to look through it—to look at all those ads. There were advertisements and coupons for appliance stores, tire shops, heating & cooling places and companies that do carpet cleaning. There were a lot of ads for various restaurants, but the pizza places caught my eye.
All the ads for the pizza joints were full page and there were six of them. I think all six are chains. I’ll list them in order, just because I can.
Domino’s: I’ve had pizza from there a few times. An old boss once told me there is no such thing as bad pizza but this pizza in my mind is just OK.
Marco’s Pizza: Can’t say much about it—ever had one.
LaRosa’s: I always think of LaRosa’s pizza as being too expensive but with those coupons in Reach Magazine, you can save some money. It’s good pizza.
Papa John’s: Good pizza, but the guy who owns the place has millions of dollars and I read somewhere that he doesn’t like Obama and his healthcare plan and is going to make all his employees part-time to avoid having to pay health insurance. This makes me think the guy is a jerk, so I won’t be eating his pizza anytime soon.
Snappy Tomato: Another pizza I haven’t tried.
Donatos Pizza: If you’re going to get a pizza from a chain, I think this is probably the best tasting pizza. I think my son agrees with me.
I guess the privately owned pizza shops can’t afford to advertise in Reach Magazine but no ad for Pizza Hut? I found that a little odd.
Those coupons in the magazine are good for about a month. If any of you want some of them, just let me know.
