I have a friend who used to comment here a lot. Last summer, he sent me a private e-mail saying he was going to stop commenting because I don’t write enough about sports—don’t write enough about the Cincinnati Reds. This is true. With so many other blogs out there writing about sports, why the hell would I want to do it? That’s what I told my used-to-be commenter.
I’m not big on parades, but I always use to enjoy the Findlay Market Parade. I say ‘use to,” because the parade would always go by the CityBeat offices on Race Street and I’m very seldom in that office anymore.
In checking the forecast for Opening Day, it looks like it’s going to be a bit cold. Wouldn’t it be odd if it snowed tomorrow? Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time that in snowed on Cincinnati’s big day in sports.
I don’t plan on going to any games this year. I could tell you the reason why is that I’m not a big fan of their smoking ban, that you can’t even smoke in any outside areas and if you want to smoke, you have to go outside of Great American Ballpark, light up, smoke, then buy another damn ticket to get back in—but I’ve said this many times in the past and don’t want to repeat myself.
While I won’t be going to the game, I’ll probably listen to it on the radio. I hope The Reds win tomorrow and have a great season. No foolin’.
