I may go to the Cornerstone Memorial Day Community Cookout. Its taking place this afternoon between one and three—taking place in the parking lot of Madison Avenue Baptist Church at the corner of Robbins and Madison in Covington, Kentucky.
The Cornerstone Project, the building itself, is located at 10th & Madison over here in Covington. I’ve written about the project and the people who run it a few times. It’s odd. This is a religious group and I’m not religious—but we all get along just fine. On my walks, I often pass the Cornerstone and I often stop and chat with some of the friends I’ve made there. The people who attend and the people who manage it are all good people and they never try to “convert” me. They respect who I am and, in turn, I respect them. Seems like a fair arrangement to me.
The cookout this afternoon is open to the public, so maybe I’ll see you there—but don’t go thinking you’ll run into my old mug. Again, my plans are loose.
