In the elevator in my apartment building yesterday, I was riding down to the lobby with another tenant who I’ve seen a few times before. We’ve have never spoke, but this time the lady felt compelled to say something.
“Anyone ever tell you that you look like House?” she asked.
“House—you know the doctor on television.”
“Yes, I guess they have,” I replied. “Is that good or bad?”
“Oh, that’s good!” she said, getting all happy. “That means we have a movie star living in the building!”
Not at all soon enough, we finally got to the lobby of the building. Noticing she was turning left, I turned right.
It’s true. This “House” business has come up before—that I look like the guy on the teevee. When I got back home an hour or so later, I decided to do a Google search on the show.
“House” ran on Fox for eight seasons. He was a doctor and the actor playing him was Hugh Laurie. Apparently, this character he’s playing is a bit of a grump. Well, that kind of sounds familiar.
After about a minute, I stopped reading about the show as I don’t know how to relate to a character on television. I don’t think I look like the guy, but having said that, I’m putting up a couple photos—one of “House” and one of me. Feel free to do house comparisons.
Apparently House walks with a cane. OK—that I can relate to.
