  1. I was shocked also. He was a great actor but always overweight. Being too heavy is what kills a person.

  2. A great actor makes the audience believe the character is real, much like a great writer. Gandolfini did this so well he made the series into what will remain one of the best. He portrayed the complexities of the light and dark sides, giving Tony Soprano the edginess and unpredictability viewers want from drama, and he did it at the highest level. It will be a long time before he is forgotten, if ever.

    Thanks for the compliment. I’m still thinking that, at 51, he was much too young to leave, and I’m a lot older…
