Beginning October 25th, Walgreens will no longer be at 1026 Madison Avenue. Their new store at 12th and Madison will be open on that date. While the staff is moving all the stuff to the new location—apparently it will take about a week—you will still be able to buy beer and cigarettes at the old location.
Beer and cigarettes: You know, the staples of life.
There have been rumors that a butcher shop will be moving into the old Walgreens location. That’s false. And pay no attention to the rumors that a Family Dollar will move in there or a check cashing place. According to one of the managers at Walgreens, the owner of the building at 1026 Madison Avenue has received no offers from any other businesses to move in there. The building may set vacant for a bit.
Someone will probably be selling Christmas trees in the old Walgreens parking lot starting in November. No, that’s not an exclusive—just a guess.
