Have I written about this before here? You know, I used to go back through some of the older posts to see if I’m repeating myself, but after writing over 1,600 of these things, I don’t do it anymore. If you’ve heard some of this before, sorry. Try to get over it.
I haven’t had a dishwasher now in almost three years. Now I’m the dishwasher, cleaning those cups and plates and the rest by hand. I don’t like having dirty dishes in the sink, so I’m doing them almost every day.
I’m currently using this Dawn “Ultra” dishwashing liquid. It comes in a small bottle as it’s condensed. I usually forget this fact and use too much of it. I have a feeling that the company who makes this stuff, and that would be Proctor & Gamble, is counting on that fact.
I’ll usually wash the cups first, then the spoons and knives and forks. I’m thinking this might be out of order, but these are the items I don’t like to clean, so I get them out of the way first. Then I do the plates.
The coffee pot I clean every other day. On the day it doesn’t get cleaned, it gets rinsed out.
Pots and pans are always last. I think I’m like most people when it comes to this. Yes, I’m being normal here.
I really like my kitchen but there isn’t a lot of counter space and I have no room for a disk rack. Therefore I dry my dishes off immediately. I kind of like this—think it saves me a step.
It seem like within half an hour of getting those dishes done, I’m already dirtying up another dish or cup. Ah well, such is life.
On Thursday, when I come back here, I may do a blog post on taking out the trash, but don’t hold me to it.
