This is going to be my last post for the year, so I thought I would go back and highlight 2013 for you, but in reality I’m no good at that or really have any desire to do it, so I’ll turn that over to Time Magazine.
They’ve put together this “Top 10 Everything of 2013.” Some of it you may be interested in, some of it you may not. You can pick and choose.
As for my own personal top 10 events that happened to me this year, I don’t think in those terms. I don’t think I’ve ever had a personal top 10 of anything but I did have some events that stood out in 2013.
In January, I moved to an apartment building here in Covington where I feel safe and secure. The older I get, the more important this is to me.
In March, I released my first novel. That was kind of a big deal and it did fairly well. I have another novel, actually a novella, coming out early in 2014 (shameless self-promotion).
My daughter has a new last name. She got married in September to a guy I actually like. I don’t think fathers are supposed to like son-in-laws, but I do.
After decades of smoking, I’ve given up tobacco cigarettes. I’m now “vaping” with e-cigarettes. This also happened in September, so I guess this was my biggest month of the year.
All in all, that a bad year for me. Yes. It’s all about me.
I hope you all have a good New Year’s Eve. I’m trying to remember the last time I was awake at midnight to ring in the New Year. It’s never been that important to me. Yes, just like in prior years, in 2013, I was a stick in the mud. However, please note that this did not make my “events” that stood out.
See you January 1st.
