How many of you can say you saw the original airing of “A Charlie Brown Christmas?” Let me raise my hand. I was 10 or 11 when it first aired in 1965. We didn’t have a color television so I had to watch it in black & white, but it still counts.
I’m amazed at how well this still holds up or maybe I should say how little the world has changed when it comes to materialism. It was alive and well in 1965 as it sure is today. Some things do change, however. I won’t be watching it in black & white this year—won’t be watching it on television either. It’s right there on my computer.
Just in case you’re interested in how this special came about in 1965, here’s a YouTube clip explaining it. I may not be your TV Guide, but I am here to serve.
