  1. I think that is the first (and probably last) time I have heard Mr. Tubb. My musician-oriented family has often wondered how true vocal/instrumental talent is overlooked or not appreciated. ET must have been in the right place at the right time with the right lyrics (and, as you mentioned, good backup). And, Brian, being nice sometimes gets a person much further than one might expect.

  2. All I remember about Mr. Tubb is “Walkin’ the Floor Over You.”
    Changing the subject to something a bit more intellectual, you might want to go to nytimes.com today to read, in the Book Review section, a review of a new John Updike bio.
