A different version of this ran on Facebook, April 23, 2014.
It was going to be her last day working there. On Wednesday afternoon, I walked down to the corner of happy and healthy (Walgreens in Covington) to say goodbye to the cashier who, for the past three years of my life, has tried to sell me Doritos, M&Ms and Snickers Bars while I’m standing there at the cash register. She does this despite the fact she knows I’m diabetic. In a sick, idiotic kind of way, I’m going to miss her.
She didn’t seem like she was very upset about leaving—was pretty much her old self except for the fact that this time around and for the last time she would be “ringing me up,” she didn’t push me to buy anything else.
She’s leaving Covington to go to another corner of happy and healthy in Cincinnati—6th & Race. CityBeat’s worldwide headquarters is right there on Race Street, so beware, CityBeaters. The woman is unrelenting in pushing candy on strangers.
Here’s the CityBeat column about her from last October.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I’ll be back here on Sunday.
