I’m pretty sure you know by now I consider myself an old coot. No, I’m not really all that old and not a grump all the time—but calling myself an old coot seems to suit my personality, so there you go. I gotta be me.
Being an old coot, at least in my mind, also means being out of touch on some things. Take for example, Hollywood. For the most part, I don’t know who “stars” are anymore. Most of the “stars” visiting those late-night talk shows I’ve never heard of.
However, I do know who Cameron Diaz is and I also know who Drew Barrymore is. I’ve even seen them in movies and consider them both good actors or actresses—whichever word you want to use. I didn’t know there was a friendship between the two of them, but I do now.
Apparently Cameron was on a radio show when one of the hosts started taking jabs at Drew. That didn’t go over too well with Cameron who cut the interview short. Here, you can click here to read all about it.
Really, nothing much in Hollywood warms this old coot’s heart, but I like the fact that Cameron Diaz stood up for Drew. That’s part of what friendship is all about.

I remember Drew being in “ET.” She was so cute back then. Still is.
You go, Cameron!
Don’t know how to break this to you, Larry, but Cameron and Drew aren’t young anymore. They are both in their 40’s. Maybe that’s why you know who they are!
I don’t know Brian. Being 40 sounds pretty young to me!
I fell in love with Cameron Diaz when “There’s Something About Mary” came out. I haven’t looked back since.
This is for you Spencer
Thanks, Jack Rabbit!
“There’s Something About Mary” is one hell of a funny movie. It is hard to believe it is now 15 years since it came out. I’m going to the library today and I know what I’m getting.
I’ve probably watched “Mary” half a dozen times. It still makes me laugh.
