In the photo over there to the right, take a look at that bamboo plant over to the left. The plant was purchased down at the corner of happy and healthy (Walgreens/Covington) in the early spring of 2013.
During the first several months that I had it, the bamboo plant didn’t grow all that much, but recently that has totally changed. It’s growing like crazy. It’s even taller now than when that photo was taken which was in late June—only about a month ago.
I’ve been trying to figure out what has changed over the past few months. I know that since early April, I’ve been playing my mandolin 15 to 20 minutes a day. Maybe the plant is responding to the music—maybe it’s a musical bamboo.
Now, I’m thinking there is probably another and/or better reason. Over the past ten months, the bamboo plant has not had to put up with my cigarette smoke as I now “vape” on an e-cigarette.
So, just like me, my bamboo plant is enjoying a smoke free apartment. I think I’m going to tell myself it’s also enjoying the mandolin music too.
