That new Dollar Tree store is opening up in the old Walgreens location at 1026 Madison Avenue here in Covington, Kentucky tomorrow—Saturday, August 23rd. The store is currently hopping with vendor trucks bringing stock into the store.
One lady, who was curious like I was, walked through their unlocked front door early on Wednesday. In less than a minute, she was escorted out.
“We’ll be open for business on Saturday,” she told the lady who had walked in.
“So everything in there is only a dollar?” I asked.
“Yes,” the person said.
“I’m with the media,” I replied. “Can I ask you a couple more questions?”
“We’re not allowed to talk to the media,” The Dollar Tree employee said.
“Can I ask you your name?” I said.
“No, I can’t give it to you.”“OK,” I replied. “Thanks anyway, Melissa.” She seemed a little shocked that I knew her name. Melissa T. is one of the managers at the new Dollar Tree.
No, I’m not a crack investigative reporter. Got the information right off the nametag that Melissa was wearing.
That store will probably be packed tomorrow, so I’ll probably wait until Sunday to venture in. Maybe I’ll run into Melissa.
