  1. I always enjoyed his music but I agree with you about his movies. To me, they were unwatchable.

  2. I agree that most of his movies were kind of rotten but for what it was, i don’t think “Jail house Rock” was too bad.

  3. Maybe it is a little unAmerican to say you’re not an Elvis fan but I agree. I can take him or leave him. I don’t think he ever wrote any of his own songs and to me that makes him less.

  4. When he started making those silly movies that was the end for me. He should have stuck to his music.

  5. A decent singer–“Love Me Tender” proves that, and so do several others. But he didn’t write his songs for the most part, and the movies were mostly dreck. Still, he was one of the big pioneers of rock. But I always liked Chuck Berry more.

  6. I remember him once on a television special singing “My Way” and reading the words off a piece of paper while singing. Couldn’t take the time to learn the song? Wasn’t so much a fan after that.

  7. Thank you for paving the way. I’m coming out of my closet and saying that Elvis is one of the most overrated acts EVER. He could sing on key and had the looks and that’s it. He couldn’t even play the guitar — just held it all the time. His movies? Laughable.

    I feel better now.
