I have this ritual before and after I go out anywhere. I rub my hands with hand sanitizer. Then, when I come home, I rub my hands with it again.
Now, I’ve mentioned this to a few friends of mine not thinking it would cause much of a debate. In fact, I thought my friends would think this to be kind of smart of me. Yes. I’m an idiot.
“You would be better off to just wash your hands with soap and water. That’s much better than using that hand sanitizer.”
“You shouldn’t use that stuff! It dries your hands out!”
“A totally useless product. Just don’t put your hands up to your eyes or mouth.”
“Just wear gloves when you go out.”
To my friends who have their opinions about what I should do this winter to avoid catching a cold or getting the flu: Thank you, but just let me use my damn hand sanitizer. This is my winter ritual of choice. I’m sorry I even brought it up.
Just in case I run out of hand sanitizer, I’ve got soap and water as well as gloves on standby.
