I finally got around to watching those first two episodes of “Better Call Saul.” I sort of kept putting it off because I was nervous about watching it.
You see, I was a big fan of “Breaking Bad” and I didn’t know if spinning off that sleazy lawyer would work or not. I mean Saul was and is a great character but could that character carry an entire series? I wasn’t sure.
I’m relieved to say that, in my view, the show works. Just like with “Breaking Bad,” the writing, the acting and the directing is solid and keeps the viewer interested.
I’m thinking the network, AMC, is feeling the same way I do. “Better Call Saul” has already been renewed for a second season.
Bob Odenkirk has been knocking around show business for a long time now with somewhat limited success. It makes me feel good that he’s finally getting his due.
