Over the past few years, I’ve come to enjoy those real life murder/mystery shows like “48 Hours” and “Dateline.” “48 Hours” is by far the best with “Dateline” a distance second. Having said that, I love the way Keith Morrison tells his stories.
Both these shows are showing mostly reruns now, so I’m looking for something else to get my fix. I know that “20/20” does some murder/mystery segments sometimes, so I went to YouTube to check a few out.
I’ve watched probably a half dozen “20/20” clips by now and I just have a few thoughts on the show—not really all that many but enough for a blog post.
First off, their murder/mystery shows don’t even come close to being as good as “Dateline” let alone “48 Hours.”
Sorry, but I think there is something odd about the hosts—David Muir and Elizabeth Vargas. The way they look at each other and then the television audience creeps me out a little bit and they look like some kind of alternative versions of Barbie and Ken.
For whatever reason, I did a Google search on both hosts to find out their ages. Muir is 41 and Vargas is 52. Vargas sure the hell doesn’t look her age. Muir doesn’t either.
Why can’t ABC, the network that airs “20/20,” give Muir and Vargas a desk to sit behind? Why are they standing up all the time? I mean, take a load off. All that standing around makes me nervous.
ABC gave them a desk. Why can’t the network do the same for Muir and Vargas?
I’ll be glad when “48 Hours” and “Dateline” stop showing reruns and gets back to new programming.
