On Facebook, they have those “Throwback Thursday” posts. I’m not going to do that very often here, but I think I will today.
One of the things I have always liked about Dolly Parton is how plain spoken—how honest she is. She was even that way back in 1978.
I came across this on The Muse yesterday—this interview Dolly did for PBS many years ago. Lawrence Gobel conducted the interview and I thought it was interesting to listen to Dolly talk about her love for tight clothes, the first time she used an indoor toilet and what she thinks of LA.
This will take about five minutes of your time. Click here to hear a young Dolly.

Miley Cyrus was recently hospitalized with some kind of wrist injury. Therefore, it was very necessary for her to go to twitter and tweet photos of her open wrist wound. After doing this, it was very necessary for her fans to photoshop the picture of her wound to make it less graphic.
You can click here if you’re interested in learning more about this strangeness.
I was going to write something along the lines of “these kids today,” but Miley is 22-years-old now, so she’s not a kid.
I reckon I don’t need to understand Miley Cyrus, but I have a feeling her godmother, Dolly Parton, has never done anything like this and to that I say, good for Dolly.

Now don’t let that gif over to the right fool you. That’s just a young Dolly Parton messing around and having a little fun.
“I try to love everybody” Dolly says, including those in the LGBT community. She doesn’t understand Christians who judge them (my spellcheck on my computer is insisting I capitalize “Christians.” That’s the only reason why I’m doing it). Click here to read more about it.
I never got to meet Dolly back in my Country Music days—sure wish I had. I think she just keeps giving all of us more reasons to love her.
