I’m back from Cincinnati, have returned to my apartment here in Covington, Kentucky. I spent the last four days house sitting at my son’s place in the Clifton Gaslight District. I was also house sitting his cats or maybe they were house sitting me. I’m not really sure.
As I said in an earlier post, I had lived in Clifton for over five years and it was fun to go back. I got to be out and about a little bit, but the weather–off and on–was crap, so I stayed in a lot of the time too. That was OK as I got to do some binge-watching with a show I really like–“Louie.”
I started watching “Louie” starting with season three. My friends told me that’s the season where Louis C.K. takes his FX show to a better level–but my son had seasons one and two on his computer, so what the hell? I decided to watch those seasons.
Now some I had already seen, so I skipped over those. I also skipped over the two with Ricky Gervais. Now I have nothing against Ricky, but I could tell almost immediately that the character he was playing–a doctor–was going to get on my nerves, so I did myself a favor.
I didn’t keep track of how many shows I actually watched. Maybe 20. I agree with my friends that season three is where “Louie” really begins, but some of those early shows have some very funny, entertaining moments, so if you get a chance, maybe you should check them out.
By the way, I also watched the first two shows of the current season of “Louie”–both very good.
Just so you know, that GIF at the top of the post is from season three of “Louie,” the Christmas show. Try to imagine how funny that one is.
I shall return here on Thursday.
