My first automobile was a 1959 Biscayne Chevy. It’s a bit faded now, but that’s me in the photo with my car. It was taken by my mother in 1969. I wish that picture showed the backend of that car. Above the long taillights on it was what I can only describe as batwings. It was like that car was going to take off like a bird or a plane.
It was my grandfather’s car. After he died, my grandmother held on to it for a while, then decided to sell it. An auto dealer would only give her a hundred dollars. I had a hundred dollars, so I bought it.

Looks like a boat there beside you.
If you had that car now and could restore it, you would make a ton of money!
Great column, Larry
I liked the column and I thought of something that might make a good question of the week, like what’s the best car you have ever owned or maybe what’s the worst care you hve ever owned.
I’m interested in the photo, looks like it was taken on a farm. The barn in the background is a hint. Can you tell me where?
Mary,
The picture was taken by my mohter on the driveway to the left of the house in East Enterprise, Indiana. That’s a hole in the road town close to Vevay Indiana, a slighty larger hole. It was`taken during the winter months.
That was a cool ride for sure :))
